I will officially doing a wedding in Nauvoo the 20th of December.

Therefore I am going to try to setup a few more weddings that week in Nauvoo, Illinois.

This can include the surrounding region
Chicago
St louis
Etc!

I would love to stay for more time but unless I actively pursue weddings out there I know I’ll end up having weddings out here in Utah that week and I’ll end up not being about to go out there for very long.

Doing multiple weddings in the same area will also spell relief in travel costs for those wanting to hire me.

Prices start at $1500 for an all day wedding. A typical student package is discounted $400 and with digital rights + disc is $1350

When and where?
I am organizing a photo editing workshop for Saturday the 8th in the morning.
It will be Lightroom centered.
Pleasant Grove – conference room provided by photographer Jeremy Hall
Respond preferably through facebook
I’m organizing it through facebook.
So if you have that it would be prefered to login and comment on my status to get part of the discussion.
This way we can discuss and keep in contact for now.
I don’t want to go having to make a list of ya’ll and stuff.
Are you game?
Anyway.
Respond only if you’re certain you can make it saturday morning the 8th.
It will be in pleasant grove.
If you are sure you can make it and don’t have facebook I will give you more details.
There are a few more spots tentively open.
We don’t have unlimited space for everyone to sit and plugin their laptops or what not.
We’re thinking about 15
If it works well we could try it again.
FAQ
BTW, Lightroom can be downloaded and used on a trial basis just fine.
Knowing how to edit is very helpful in becoming a better photographer and stuff.
How it will probably run down.
It’s an informal gathering. What are you expecting from my free generosity?
I’ll have a big screen so you can see the main computer at work.
I will spend let’s say about 60-90 (maybe less) going over my workflow and showing off absolutely everything about lightroom. We’ll then play around with our own stuff answering eachother’s questions.
We’ll be doing show and tell and giving eachother insights and sharing presets and techniques and stuff.
Towards the end i’m sure people can go when they want, but I’ll remain to the end to help and answer questions.
Disclaimer
this doesn’t mean i think i know everything.
I just think we should be sharing our talents and I thought it would be fun.
Plus it’s much faster and effecient than helping people out individually all the time.
-This doesn’t include regular photoshop because… well that’s not what I’m good at.

Engagement pictures taken at a really cool and rustic place in draper. I totally wasn’t expecting the leaves to be changing colors there.

Man I could put a whole bunch more of them on the blog to show off… but gotta stop somewhere. So you just need to go to the full gallery to see more.
Here on SmugMug – The first 60-120 are my favs… yes there are more… yes that’s a lot. But they said they wanted a bunch and we worked well together… so it just happened.

In case you’re wondering he’s from france and she’s from Brazil.

PROVO PHOTOGRAPHY MEETUP GROUP

See the rest of the pictures from the group here on flickr

This was my first experience with this group.
It was a tough shoot because of how dark it was outside.

I spent most of the evening trying to help some of the other photographers get good pictures, because I love doing that and I think it’s even more fun.

But for a good 20 minutes or so I was taking pictures.

It’s late and I’m just now going through them… so I’ll post one now and a bunch later.

This one embraces the feeling of the night.

Every month there is a group of photographers or aspiring photographers in Utah that get together and do a photoshoot. This is the location and event for october. My favorite 60

More of my pictures located here:

The rest of the photographers put their pictures here on flickr

This is only the second time I’ve been up Big Cottonwood Canyon.
The first time was on a film set at night in winter, so that probably doesn’t count.

I went with a friend Beth and another photographer Jeffrey.
You can see Jeff’s work on flickr

All of my pictures from the event, keeping in mind I don’t know how to be selective are on SmugMug Gallery

I have set it up so the first 40 and then the first 80 are the ones that I prefer the most. So that way you don’t need to look at all of them.

We made 3 stops and throughout the canyon the fall colors were in various stages of brillance, but in most spots the trees were now devoid of leaves for the year… sad.

Lots of pictures of Aspens changing color

A Bunch of Pictures of the Storm Mountain area

I went crazy on taking pictures of this frost on the grass

Silver lake up at Brighton was partly frozen over.
This is where I actually placed the camera on the lake to take a few pictures.

The moon when we set off on our adventure was still full and hadn’t set yet.

Finished up a photo shoot at the Canyons and was heading home and decided to take advantage of the first fallen snow of the year (a light dusting) and the unique light that was shining through on the fall colors.

Wedding and Reception were both held at the Red Butte garden.

We didn’t have a lot of time for setup portraits between the ceremony and reception.
But that was just as well as they asked me to document and not be in their face too much.

I like that style anyway capture the emotions of the day.

The Engagements and Bridals were more about creation, this one was about capturing the feelings of the day.

(Warning… there’s a lot. The first 150 should give you a good run down)

I sure made that place look like a forrest!

All prepped and ready to get married.

Still hasn’t seen her. But I’m sure he’s excited.

Some Details

Tried something new with the rind.
They had beautiful toasting glasses.
I don’t have a macro lens so I couldn’t get super close anyway.

The ring shots might have been forgotten if the best man hadn’t brought it to me before the ceremony.
Props to him.

When everyone is super excited about the flowers It’s time to start taking a bunch of pictures of flowers.
Probably would have done it anyway while I waited. But I more and more I see how much the setting of their reception means to brides.

What wedding event would be complete without a picture of the cake.

There weren’t too many posed shots that evening.

There’s a bunch of shots of them standing there as they listened to the pre-ceremony speaker.
This is just on of the ones i liked the framing of.
They’ll probably like the other pictures with more expression.

Bridesmaids watching the ceremony.

Exits are always a lot of fun.

Whoever told the mom that white pedals would be better… well they were right.

One of my friends was directing part of the Provo music festival and got a hold of me to take some pictures.

So I did. I’ve done a couple of concerts and thought it was fun, and wanted to try some more.

Here are some of the highlights of the outdoor festival. Lighting at night was limited with the free outdoor festival but I made due.

There were only lights on this stage from one side, so there were a few pictures like this.

The castle stage had a much different lighting, not quite as unique.

There were also lots of pictures taken of the participants of the festival.
And lots of pictures before it got dark
