So in my continued attempt to bring you small glimpeses of my trips this christmas season i thought i’d bring out a few pictures I took while DRIVING through St. Louis.
All of these were while i drove happhassardly through St. Louis before i had to rush over to the airport to catch a flight back to Salt Lake City.

If you knew how little effort I put into these pictures you’d be sick 
I purposely stopped at the red light right in this spot so i could get the sun like this.
I could also put my F/Stop pretty high and the shutter speed down a bit since I was stopped and not actually driving.
I don’t do a ton of big city shots so i’d be interested to know which ones are popular with people.

They were set on being happy no matter if it were 80 degrees and sunny or 30 degrees and snowy.
They could find the silver lining and there was no stopping them being exesively happy!
And why not they were meant for eachother and… heck they had the two best photographers this side of the solar system!!
Just putting up a little teaser of what promises to be many hundreds of pictures.
We did get them out of the snow for a few shots. 
Here’s one of the scenes that I was specially proud of from recent trips
It was about 1 degree outside (not counting windchill) and I was heading out of town back to St. Louis that morning.
So like many of the pictures you’ll see in these upcoming posts I wasn’t about to get out of the car. But i set my settings skidded to a stop on the 1 inch of ice on the road and backed up and pulled forward to get the perfect pics

So it will be a while until I get them all edited… so i’ll try to just go through them and find a few to edit and throw on the blog.
I’m up to 6,000 pictures to sort through since the 18th and I still have a couple more weddings a trip to vegas and an engagement left to take pictures at.
So an old friend bought a D90 and she finally got around to getting training from me.
So the funnest way was to go take pictures of eachother.
While i took pictures I narated every move and reason behind the action I made. Figuring that would provide vast amounts of insight into doing people photography and photography in general.
It seems i have tons of different teaching styles based on the circumstance and the type of person.
Anyway she flipped out over her pictures… It was way fun and very flattering all the amazing things she said.

THIS IS A LONG BLOG POST - Just so you know
My job at church (calling) is to be the photographer.
How chill is that?? Per’ Darn – is the answer.
Yeah sure it’s tons of work in comparison to other things… but it’s no different than what I do every other day.
I’ve had this calling starting back in 2005 in 3 different wards! In the 3 places i’ve lived… since that first time.
I don’t take quite as many as I did when i lived in my previous house… but still all my friends at church get hooked up with some great pictures at the activities I show up with a camera.

Thoughts
I would have preferred a non-flash site.
But only a site like this was feasable at this time and situation.
I know that it loads slow for some and flash is annoying to others.
But i went into it knowing that it wouldn’t please everyone and that some of the slow connection people will be specially annoyed.
I’m still going through the text trying to simplify and edit it shorter.
What I love
I love the large picture size
I like having music to add an atmosphere
I love having the pricing done.
I like the simply layout and fast connection to my blog and fan page
The slideshow seems to be a very popular feature.
I’m suprised by how many people actually go through so many of the pictures.
STATS
It took dozens of hours to pick the style i wanted
It took well over 20 hours to pick the pictures I wanted for the site
I have over 800 pictures on the site.
Which is good for me…
I started with let’s say 200,000 pictures
I brought it down all the way to 2,400 of the best
And worked with other photographer friends to get it down to 800
There are 16 unique galleries located in 3 main portfolios
The background is a picture i took a couple months ago.
I’m still searching for music
Right now I have 2 italian rock songs and one english song.
PLANS
I am still planning on adding a separate site to represent all non-wedding photography stuff.
I plan on setting up similar photo sites for some of my photography associates and then linking them to my site.

Here is just a glimpse of the shoot.
Many more good things are to come!
I just selected one … i haven’t even looked at a tenth of the pictures i took.
Reasons why the shoot was so good?
The couple was awesome to work with
And I worked in combination with another awesome photographer and it was a great great experience (One of those synergistic partnerships as discussed in my previous post)
The joys of working with another photographer on a shoot.
Let me give you a short glimpse into this subject.
These are my thoughts as of now… as i’m just venturing into some of these paths.
Suffice it to say it is a whole new joyful world to working with and working well with another good photographer.
Working with another photographer & having another person assist you are different.
Both can be great things! And both pose problems
But they are different things.
