I am looking for a part time employee.
(Update: applications are no longer being taken, the response has been phenomanal)
“Personal Assistant” or “Secretary”
ME:

WHEN
Starting now.
Going until indefinite amount of time (At least through september… probably just keep on going)
NOT
I am not looking for a photography assistant for a part time job.
I am not looking for a photography assistant for a part time job.
I work with different assistants or shadows almost every photo-shoot.
On second thought: If it were to be part photography then I could turn it into an internship of sorts.
Perhaps with a lower pay rate.
Perhaps with a lower pay rate.
WHY
Why I am looking for an employee?
I find that some days I spend so much time doing so many little things that It’s not until 3-6 hours later that I get started on things only I can do like editing my pictures.
I’m getting backed up on my editing and it’s only going to get worse with the amount of weddings and traveling around the country I’ll be doing throughout the year.
Sometimes with everything that’s going on I can forget or put off certain things I need to be doing.
I could possibly do all this stuff but I figure a happier and less stressed Scott means better pictures… and I want to make it through the year in one piece having given my best for each job.
Someone to keep me on track and to make this year a bit more enjoyable with the massive amounts of work that will be happening.
Duties
Some duties Include but are not limited to:
- Take things to the post office (you can’t believe how bad i am at this)
- Taking care of Printing
- Other errands
- Scheduling & Planning
- Keeping me on task
- Contact with clients (I’ll continue to do much of this because they usually want to chat with me)
Other Skills
Other skills that could be used.
Each skill will mean more work-time and more compensation (based on level of skillset)
Each skill will mean more work-time and more compensation (based on level of skillset)
- Audio editing
- Blog writing
- Data Entry
- Photo organizing, key-wording
- Photography assistant (lighting, posing groups, grunt work and even second camera etc)
- Anything else you feel you can offer
- Way excited if you also knew web-design, web programming, advertising, marketing etc
These are mainly jobs that could be to fill in time or if you want to work additional hours.
Required
- Live nearby: I won’t pay for time it takes to get to my location. (Provo near Gold’s Gym)
- Car: Running errands would be pretty hard without this
- Good people skills: You will be interacting with clients
- Writing skills: And I’m not just talking grammar, because it’s not the end of the world if you forget a period – But to represent well.
- Not be out of communication for too long. (i.e. gone out of the country for a few weeks and not be able to call etc)
- Interact well with me: It is a job as my assistant… that seems pretty sensible that we work well together.
Hours
Could be set up for anywhere from 10-30hrs a week.
It depends on what you have the ability to do.
If it’s just the basics I can do about 10hrs with any left over tasks put to bigger long term projects
Flexibility in time will be something I will look for.
I could have busy weeks.
But I will be able to set a minimum amount of hours.
Temp > Official
When hired It will be a 2 week temporary job.
At the end of the Job I will decide whether to hire you indefinitely.
Other Thoughts &/or Benefits
- Flexible schedule
- It’s kind of an on call-job (So some people might not like that)
- You’ll learn a lot about photography and the business of it all.
- It’s not too terribly difficult.
- Many of the long term projects you can possibly do from home.
- I will get an account at lynda.com … so you can study new software that can help out. (Audition, lightroom, photoshop, blogging etc)
Pay
Heck I don’t know…
depends on what additional skill-set you bring to the table.
If not it will be a traditional “Secretary” wage i suppose
I’d say the range starts at $8-9 and goes up to $11+
I will probably start lower and give great raises based on length of time with me and increased capabilities.
If my lack of ability to be very formal (and my laid back attitude) on things like this bugs you… then I wouldn’t apply
haha
If you have a specific set of talents above and beyond let me know the rate you were hoping for… we’ll see what we can do
