BACKGROUND (Yesterday)
I went on a photowalk yesterday.
I was around of a lot of awesome photographers, plenty of seasoned professionals.
But there were also a few photographers who were new to the game.
Some were brand new… having bought a new DSLR camera a week before and in one case the day before.
I have taught a lot of editing workshops recently.
Lightroom editing stuff: For beginners, intermediate and advanced.
But it’s been a while since I’ve taught actual photo skills and camera tech knowledge.
How to take better pictures stuff.
I did some yesterday and I remembered how fun it was.
You can ask Suzanne and Steph about it… we did an unorganized 2-3hr session back when I first met them.
I used to do it all the time for friends years ago when I wasn’t so busy.
I want to do it again. But I don’t want to charge and I want people to earn it.

I think I want to do an all day kinda photo workshop thingy.

PRIZES
For the Photographer
(Person who wants to learn to take better pics)
A day long photography workshop.
Start off with some how to use your own camera stuff.
Learn the buttons.
Philosiphize about what makes a typical good picture.
Play with lighting.
The whole thing you will be able to ask questions
We’ll take tons of pictures.
We’ll throw in flash and unique lighting situations
We’ll have models
We’ll learn how to look for locations and how to use them.
My style is low key and yet fast paced.
You will be learning my style photography… thought I should state the obvious.
The day will probably include editing training as well.
Plan on a full day.
For the Model
(Peron who wants to have a bunch of pictures of themselves)
Not only will I take tons of pictures of you for as long as you want during the workshop
You will get tons of other people taking pics too.
You can do several outfit changes
Really pump out a model portfolio or spice it up.
Or just some for fun pictures. (To send to mom or a significant other)
You will have rights to pictures and a disc of the full sized images from me. (Plus online gallery of course)
For the Others (other options for winners)
* free 20×30 or 16×20 print from my collection of pictures on smugmug – but not limited to those
*If you win and don’t need training (Because you already know photography) I will purchase you a sensor cleaning from pictureline.
*Or you get a couple hours of lightroom training.
*Or $300 off of a photoshoot (does not include travel)
When
I figure an all day event should probably be a saturday.
Meaning it will probably need to be August 29th (Next saturday without a wedding)
I also recently got August 1st freed up… but not everyone can free up a date so close.
But I’m willing… and might change it if there is desire/need.
How to Win
This game is a point system kinda thing… also with some randomness
I state now that I can change things up at any time. Like in case I made mistakes or so it’s not so easily “Gameable”
It’s a low-key kinda thing.
I will add winners in until we hit the quota of Photographers AND Models
-One winner will be selected by who gets the most points. (Plus extra prize)
-One winner will be selected at random by all entries no matter the points
-One winner will be selected at random by all entries & points matter (More points more chance)
-One winner will be judges choice (Totally lets in room for bribary i know… haha)
-One winner will be a suprise… meaning I haven’t thought of a cool way to win yet.

This is not a paid event… I’m doing it for free… but if you did want in on it I’d say you’re looking at 500-800$ Just sayin.
Remember some are there to learn photography and some to model.
I will chat with people that do organized workshops like these and see what a good number of people is to have.
