Subtitle: "The sun is Hot, the sun is Not, a place where you can live"
Sub-SubTitle: "I fell into a burnin' ring of fire"

Location: "The Wave" at the Utah/Arizona Border. (Technically only a couple are at the wave and the rest are up the hill a few hundred feet above the wave)

To learn more about the sun consider this They Might Be Giants song that kept playing in my head on Sunday (that and Johnny Cash)

I was debating getting rid of the sun spots because they looked like dust. haha

+Dave Powell I'm kinda jealous I really should go see them like. BTW thanks for the re-share yesterday it was awesome of you.

I used to see shows all the time and they were simply awesome. I think they played the entire Flood album… it was too cool.

I also just saw Morrisey live in Tokyo!

What did you use to shoot this? Do you have some kind of solar filter on your lens? Or was it low enough that you didn't need one?

    TECH SPECS

D800 70-200 with 1.7x teleconverter using the 1.5x crop mode … smallest aperture at 1/8000th using a variable neutral density filter at probably 7-9 stop darkening setting.
Focus on horizon somewhere else, lock focus, scan horizon for sun fire quickly and move away. No eye or camera damage… that I know of. haha
Cropped in and cropped square in LR4 and then mixed together in LR4s print section.

+Scott Jarvie I was laughing too hard at the subtitles to pay attention the first time through. As always, great work.
