…and now I'm not

Yes I'm back home in Utah as of like an hour ago.
This is a picture from a trip to California… but not the one I just go back from. It's from the one I did in February. Where I went on a little photowalk with +Peter Adams +Barry Blanchard and +Mike Spinak

The pictures I just took on this 19day roadtrip will take a while to even get on my main computer because I need to free up space on my computer. (I took a lot)

This is at Russian Ridge just outside of los gatos california. Taken with a very warm white balance but colors have not been edited afterwards. It was a fun and memorable sunset.

    I like your version, Scott.

(By the way, my version became the first mobile phone shot I sold for stock use.)

Absolutely beautiful, I hiked there back in March, and it made me smile to see this picture. How did you get the orange hues?

I drive past Russian Ridge every day to/from work, it's a beautiful spot in the Santa Cruz Mountains.  Very nice.  Do you have geotag data for this one?  The more I look at it, the more it looks like a spot in Castle Rock that I also really like.

+Aaron Wood It should be geotagged

Correction… I guess I had the GPS not plugged in that evening. Sorry

+Scott Jarvie , +Barry Blanchard - ok, now I see how it fits.  I've not been through there on foot in >10 years.  It's really sad how when you drive through there day after day, you don't often stop to actually enjoy it.  Before I moved up into the mtns from Cupertino, I was up there most weekends.  I've taken a bunch of great (although far less dramatic) photos up there in those ridge-top meadows.

+Aaron Wood park in the parking lot on Skyline, then hit the trail. Not far at all.

So warm… and yet so far away. Yay for your bed! And not your car!!

  14. Aaron Wood says

+Barry Blanchard - I know… that's why it makes me so sad.  I pass that parking lot 10 times a week.  At least I've stopped off at Windy Hill a few times to take photos back towards the ocean at sunset (the banner on my profile was one of those, although it wasn't a great photo in and of itself).

Grew up in Cupertino then Saratoga and early married yrs on the San Jose/Los Gatos boarder near the Santa Cruz Mountains. This looks very familiar, but I can't place it.
