Na thanks, I've just been :-) No, seriously, I would go again anytime, time and money permitting. The only annoying thing there were all the cues of tourists in front of about anything remotely interesting :-)
Now I'm in the middle of editing and posting the pictures I took there. Photographically it was really rewarding. Especially Père Lachaise was really nice. I probably could have spent a whole day there.

+Michael Halstead Friday and Saturday the tower of Note Dame is open in the evening, that's a really nice view of the sunset from there, plus in the evening you don't have to stand in the cue for hours.
Also Sacre Coer is a must. And as I said Père Lachaise. I tried to get into the catacombs, that's supposed to be really nice, but I didn't want to stand in line for hours there.

No, it's like in any city Lars, if you go for non touristy place, you'll have the real people and the real city ;)
I can tell you, I live in Paris ;)

+Lars Siebold Thanks very much for the info!  This will be my first time visiting Paris, so any advise is very helpful.

+Michael Halstead the best advice we can give you : just wanders in the streets. Look around, get lost. You'll use your time better walking randomly and finding gems than waiting hours to see a museum. Don't miss churches though.

and when you're really lost try to get back to the river (Seine).

+Clement Mesnier I will be walking around with my wife and 3 children, so getting lost should be fairly easy.  However, they will be modeling for me as well!

    Super image!

+Maïa Taïeb Sure, and I did wander the streets to find the places where nobody else is going. But then, when I was tired of walking all day and I wanted to visit some of the more touristic places, I found it more crowded than elsewhere. But I must confess, that I'm not a seasoned city traveller. At least, according to Wikipedia, Paris has the most international visitors in the world.

    Wow nice work.

  19. Locky Downing says

When I was there I did the same, wandered around the back streets. It's a pretty interesting way to find stuff.

No better way to discover a city than wandering aimlessly. Only works well in cities that are pedestrian friendly, of course, but that's very much what Paris is. And one of the reasons why I love living here.

+Thomas Paris tu as vu sur la photo de Scott comme la pyramide semble écrasée. C'est assez différent de la réalité mais ça rend bien !

Ce sont surtout les couleurs et le contraste orange/bleu qui me plaisent sur cette photo.
