Our very first shots of the day… back when we were kinda dry.
Bridevale falls… one of the only times I’ve done pics there.
Thought I’d try something interesting up in park city.

Well last I left you was similar pictures through a door, through windows and we all enjoyed the unique pictures (I hope)
This one does the same but adds a unique element that I think connects the couple… Music.
When I first talked to them Music came up… they found me because I took pictures of his Brother’s band.
They love their (primarily Indie) music and at least he’s always listening. So putting them at a piano is perfect in my mind.
So take everything I said in the last post and add this aspect to it to make an even better picture.
Also the connection between the two in the BW is nice!
I am happy to note that while I stood way down the hall that the pop up flash was able to trigger the SB-900 flash located in the white box that would flood the room with some extra light.
Though some might consider the next picture the best of them all I will remind you that this is the only one that connects you with that aspect of music in their life.

I like to keep my pictures diverse so that they have a hard time choosing which one. They’re not choosing from a studio shoot where the only thing that changes is the expression or the lighting. Awesome pictures that could all equally work with entirely different moods and looks.
Thanks marco for working so hard to get awesome lighting… It was a new element working with the small softbox but I’m starting to do it a lot more often. Not because I didn’t like it before, but because time is a little more open and I wasn’t lugging a bag around… it stayed in the car and we didn’t ever venture far from the car.
From the moment I met this couple we were buds… we met at a bridal show and when I left I remembered them vividly and said to myself of all the hundreds of people I met today I hope that one couple gets a hold of me because their pictures would be awesome.
Awesome why? Because they wanted the best and because they connected with the photographer… me!
Back in May I was able to go to alaska to do a wedding, while there I offered to engagements for this couple.
I recently went back to Alaska to do another wedding in July
At that time I was able to do this couple’s bridals… I will post those soon.
Lots of great locations in Alaska… it was so green there and the light was awesome there in the summer. I could take pictures really late into the day.
They’re getting married first week of August unfortunetly it’s a day I already have a wedding, therefore I wont’ be going back for the 3rd time this year.
They picked out this cool spot and had me come out… it fits them well and we all had a ton of fun.

Reasons why the shoot was so good?
The couple was awesome to work with
And I worked in combination with another awesome photographer and it was a great great experience (One of those synergistic partnerships as discussed in my previous post)
You might guess that he’s a speed skater.
You’re right he is… training to go to olympics.
He’s from South Africa and she’s from California.
An old friend is getting married and we did his engagements at his brothers house.
They wanted me to focus on having a few more B&W than usual…. so I added a lot towards the end.
