The 4th of March JarvieU is putting on the tastiest event yet.

The Low-Down

We’re inviting a mixture of 2 groups.
Photographers and Food bloggers/Chefs

We’ll be learning how to take better pictures of food.
- Helping the photographers to get better at this skill and learn some new tricks.
- Helping the food bloggers learn how to take better pictures of their own food for their blogs and other websites.

Then we eat the food. (I’m pretty excited about this part of course)

Because the process isn’t done when you snap the picture we’ll take it one step farther. We’ll show everyone some editing using lightroom.
Just some quick simple ways to make them look better. (If they haven’t used lightroom before they should come to a quick pre-class)

Tuesday, March 4th 6:30pm

5-6 Chefs/Foodies (Invites)
5-6 Instructors  (Invites)
5-6 Student/Interns from JarvieU (Invites)
5-6  Other Photographers (Open)

How to take part

Those extra people who might want to come will be asked to donate to the food and props fund.
Let me know if you’re interested we will figure out the cost and try to figure out who is able.

For the rest of you we’re thinking of live broadcasting much of the event online.
Let me know how much interest there is

I’m pretty sure we’ll raffle/give-away one spot. Just for the fun of it.

There is a Food Photography Clinic being put on by my good friends Rich Legg and Nicole Young

I was looking through some pictures to perhaps add to their discussion.
I know my style of food pictures is probably going to be different. Less diliberate more consequential of where I am at. Less product orientated and more to catch memories.

But I thought I’d share some favorites over the years.

Though most of my stuff comes from wedding gigs. This one was taken as I was sitting down for a meal in Italy.
Just kinda took a picture of what was happening

Wedding pictures are mainly done to preserve memories. Remember that awesome cheesecake we had at our wedding?
Well now this is perhaps the only real memory left… my picture.
