OK while still up in the Montmartre district we took some pictures with the views of down below.

The first area was a less typical view while planted on some steps to the north of the really popular areas.

We actually only spent a short time in the area in front of the cathedral. There were just too many people and not enough awesome views.

I prefered this location.

I shot through some black railing and that’s the effect you’re seeing in the top portion of the picture above. Pretty COol.

Well we had to eat at some point that day. So why not turn it into an awesome photo-op.

So we picked the best looking and least cluttered with people restaurant. It’s pretty chilly and she’s ready to get inside somewhere and stay warm… plus this means that the outside tables aren’t being used.

Well now you know where we ate and what was on the menu. haha

The table cloths are pretty classic

So I kinda came up with the idea of shooting through the window after we ate… first I went outside… but the reflections were way bad they practically had to press up against the glass to see them.

But looking back I love the reflections.

Then they went outside and sat. You must know that when I look at these pictures I’m thinking about all the lighting things I coulda done or if I had an assistant outside to help pose them since they couldn’t hear me.

Those are red curtains… he was way way red… this is after I desaturated it way down. The BW is pretty awesome but for some reason I love the red glow.

Ok so the 3rd stop on our day long photo expedition around the city for these wedding pictures was up in Montmartre

This is up on the hill with the views of the city and the famous Sacre-Couer Cathedral.

This was the area picked by people in my petition on my Facebook Biz Page – Asking where we should go in addition to where was already planned. Great Choice.

We got dropped off a bit from the popular spots so as to not get caught up in traffic and then the driver had to go run some errands.

We kinda just stopped as we were walking up some roads, tourists walking around stopped to take pictures of us.

Almost every building had a facade that was picture worthy, but we kinda randomly picked this one.

This guy had come out the back of his location for a smoke break and got a show to watch… which promptly because of his coolness I put him into the show.

I thought this was perfect… because this is france. I did kinda want him to stand back further maybe up against the wall and kinda in the background… I still wanted it mainly about her. But I must admit my french isn’t up to par to say things like “in the background” or “You should act like you just happen to be in the picture, doing your thing”

OK First off let’s be honest it’s not really an Alley … but it just sounded much better that way. Really most of the roads look like this.
I think this really shows how you can just pick any street on the map or out of a hat and go there and find a trove of awesome shots.

How do Parisian photographers get anygood with sooooo many amazing places to shoot… it’s like they don’t have to try hard. (That can’t be good for developing raw skills)

Now that we got this out of the way we shot here because well this is where we picked them up right outside their hotel… thought we’d do some warm up shots since it was cloudy and the weather wasn’t forcing our hands to get anywhere fast.

It was a nice quite oneway (as most all the streets are) so we only had to get out of the road a few times.

Yeah we just picked the closest coolest windows available.

At the end of the park near the Eiffel Tower there is a Memorial to peace. It is a great vantage point to the tower.

Being far enough away to photograph a subject this large with an unobstructed view is important to be able to use a lens like the 70-200 in order to stand back and zoom in to be able to compress the scene and give it a unique look and feel.

The framing of the couple and the tower were just great perks. Plus it was on an elevated level which allow to shoot above the park and the fences and people that are strolling about.

 012_J7S0603 090_J7S0570

To get this far away made it a much harder scene to light up because my lights had to shoot farther… I therefore had to take the softbox off and go straight zoomed in flash… it was still hard being the mid morning on a bright cloudy day.

 338_J7S0564 352_J7S0612

There is a lot more of the memorial that would make for awesome pictures however being limited on time we went for the pretty straight forward awesome spot.

She was pretty cold by then so we got the jacket back on her and he opted to do a couple extra pictures as we waited for the car to pull around.

THE PLANNED POSTS

This is part of a longer series focusing on 7 different locations (some locations are broken down)

OK so here it is: The first installment of the Wedding Pictures in Paris.

I write this moments before I jump in my car and head to California to do a wedding tomorrow… so the other posts will have to wait until next week.

 293_J7S0424

So as you can expect one could spend all day at this location and take tons of pictures but for us this was one of 7 locations that we went to that day.
I chose a location a bit fartherĀ  away so I could use both the 50mm 1.4 and the 70-200 2.8 and still have full tower in view.

 005_J7S0459 011_J7S0479

When I was using the 70-200 I’d usually back aways and zoom in giving them their room and let them kinda come up with their own stuff… I had them walk to me for a couple as I laid there in on the cold wet ground… I know “what a trooper” haha

I call this time of year “Dirty Fall” and I love it. It’s when most of the leaves have fallen they’ve since been rained on and lost a lot of color except for that dirty fall kinda look.

It’s that point where it’s almost a bit more winter than it is fall but some of the colors of fall still remain.

The spot speaks to romance… so they did mostly tender, emotional and romantic poses.

Paris Formals

So yeah there were lots of pictures to show from the this last week I spent in France. It’ll take me a while to get to them all and edited and online. I also put them on Facebook frequently.

As for the wedding pictures I took… more technically they are Wedding Formals (Some call it the blah word Groomals) But we’ll just stick to the short “Wedding Pictures”. They got married in SLC at the LDS Temple Saturday had their shin dig and flew to Paris they chilled there Sunday and Monday (honeymooning) and then we met up on Tuesday for their typical couple pictures. They really wanted awesome memorable pictures (both are photographers) and well that’s what they got.

As for the 5 other days that I took Travel Style pictures those will be located on the Envision the World blog mainly

THE PLANNED POSTS
